Uganda Embassy bids farewell to outgoing DA
The Embassy of Uganda in Bujumbura bade farewell to Brigadier General (Rtd) Grace Agaba, the outgoing Defence Attaché (DA) and received Brigadier General Simon Nicholas Ocan, as his successor.

The Embassy of Uganda in Bujumbura has today joined key development partners such as the European Union (EU), The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Save the Children, The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), The Korea International Cooperation Agency (Koica), and refugee host countries of Burundian Refugees for a high-level roundtable on the return of Burundian Refugees.
The Embassy of Uganda celebrated the 60th Independence Day Celebrations at the Chancery grounds on Sunday the 9th October 2022.
The event was hosted by the Uganda Embassy in Burundi. Over 400 Ugandans were in attendance, in what was a colourful and joyous occassion. Members of the Diplomatic Corps and International Community were in attendance.
Ugandan entertainers, Ugandan food and Ugandan drinks were enjoyed at the event, which serves annually to strengthen the bond among the Ugandan Diaspora in Burundi.
The Embassy of Uganda in Burundi, working closely with the Association of Ugandans Living in Burundi, is in the final stages of organizing the 60th Independence celebrations slated to take place at the lush grounds of the Embassy of Uganda Chancery, in Bujumbura.
The event is scheduled to begin on Sunday 9th October 2022 from 3pm (Central Africa Time) up to 8pm.
Ambassador Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Matayo Kyaligonza, the Ugandan Ambassador to Burundi, will be the chief Host of the celebrations.
Exhibitions at the 2nd East African Tourism Expo in Bujumbura closed. The East Africa Partner states have been urged to brand and position as a premier event. This is in order to improve visibility of the region as a single tourist destination.

The 2nd East African Regional Tourism Exhibition happening now in Bujumbura.
The Uganda Embassy Bujumbura in conjunction with stake holders in the tourism industry from Uganda will be participating in the event with the opening ceremony in a few hours from now.
Other Participants from the EAC region are taking part as well.
