The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation of the Republic of Burundi offered guidance in regards to the census of foreigners residing in Burundi, planned by the Ministry of Interior, Development Community and Public Security, from the 26 to 28 March 2024.
The Ministry published a link which can be used for the census.
The Committee on Foreign Affairs of the 11th Parliament of Uganda has been on a working visit in Bujumbura to interface with staff of the Uganda Embassy and to brainstorm on areas in which service delivery can be enhanced. It is during this exercise that the Committee, led by the Chairperson Hon. Norah Bigirwa Nyendwoha interacted with the Ugandan Diaspora in Burundi and had in-depth exchanges on various matters that are of concern to the community.
The Uganda Embassy in Bujumbura participated in the Senior Command and Staff College (SCSC) Cultural Gala 2024 edition. This is an annual event organised by the students at the Kinanira SCSC campus.

The Embassy of Uganda participated in the Uganda Day of the 23rd EAC MSMEs Trade Fair organized jointly by the EAC and in collaboration with partner states and private sector.
The event is a brainchild of the Heads of State of the EAC Partner States, who, having realized the importance of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in regional integration, inaugurated the EAC MSMEs Trade Fair formerly known as the Jua Kali/Nguvu Kazi in 1999.
The 9th MedTech Hackathon commenced with a Clinical Summit taking place at Silverback Hotel in Mbarara on the first day.
The theme of this hackathon was: Leveraging Innovation to Achieve Equitable and Sustainable Healthcare. Different groups presenting their resolutions for the different case studies used.
The new Ambassador of Tanzania to Burundi H.E. Gelasius Gaspar Byakanwa paid a courtesy to Ambassador Kyaligonza, who is also the Dean of Ambassadors in Burundi, and delivered a gift that contained among others waragi made from Tanzania.
In exchange, the Dean also gave him a bottle of Uganda waragi. The meeting was cordial and the Ambassador of Tanzania appreciated Uganda Embassy for putting up its magnificent building.
Yesterday Gen David Muhoozi, the Minister of State for Internal Affairs in Uganda, paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador of Uganda to Burundi, H.E. Maj Gen (rtd) Matayo Kyaligonza.
