Activities leading to the 23rd Summit of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) have began in Bujumbura, Burundi. 

With the summit’s host agreement having been signed on August 13, 2024 between the Government of Burundi and the COMESA Secretariat, the summit is scheduled for October 31, 2024. 

Activities kicked off on Monday 28th October with the 17th COMESA business forum. Today, Tuesday 29th October, the 19th meeting of Foreign Ministers will take place.
