Head of ICRC in CAR pays a coutersy call to Amb. Kyaligonza

Philippe Beauverd, the Head of Delegation, Central African Republic, at International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) paid a courtesy call to the Ambassador of Uganda in Burundi H.E. Maj Gen (Rtd) Matayo Kyaligonza. The current Chief of Mission for the ICRC Burundi Olivier Haringanji sent apologies as other engagements prevented him from attending this meeting.


Mr. Beauverd is known to the Ambassador, having served in Burundi as the ICRC Head of Delegation between 2016 and 2020. His current visit to Burundi is on an official capacity as a delegate to the Burundi Red Cross. The Burundi Red Cross remains a steadfast partner committed to providing key interventions designed to create lasting impact. 


Burundi Red Cross was founded in 1963 and admitted into the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent in the same year. The Burundi Red Cross is undergoing a restructuring process where it is set to become a mission, operating under the Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS).
