Uganda Embassy hosts Uganda's Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs

The Committee on Foreign Affairs of the 11th Parliament of Uganda conducted a working visit to the Uganda Embassy in Bujumbura from 13th to 21st February 2024.  This engagement was aimed at among other issues, evaluation of Government programmes on bilateral and multi-lateral relations, assessment of the status and implementation of the EAC common Market Protocols and brainstorming on areas in which service delivery can be enhanced. It is during this exercise that the Committee, led by the Chairperson Hon. Norah Bigirwa Nyendwoha, interacted with the Ugandan Diaspora in Burundi and had in-depth exchanges on various matters that are of concern to the community.

The Ambassador of Uganda to Burundi Maj Gen (rtd) Matayo Kyaligonza, who led the team from the Embassy, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Committee of Foreign Affairs for the forward thinking and fresh initiative that will enhance Uganda's commercial diplomacy endeavours in line with the tenets of the National Development Plan (NDP) III.
