Tue, 09/27/2022

Exhibitions at the 2nd East African Tourism Expo in Bujumbura closed. The East Africa Partner states have been urged to brand and position as a premier event. This is in order to improve visibility of the region as a single tourist destination.

Other recommendations include

  1. Partner States should be innovative and develop tourism products that protect the natural ecosystems and biodiversity.
  2. Partner States should create synergies and collaborate in promotion of the East Africa Region as a single tourism destination.
  3. Partner States should jointly package and promote tourism investment opportunities.
  4. The need to strengthen regional tourism value-chains to spread tourism benefits to local communities.

The Expo now moves into a phase of familiarization tour across Burundi for stakeholders.
